Step-By-Step Bulletproof Coffee

In an effort to provide the most accurate information I can, I must share with you something I just found out. Apparently the process for sourcing bulletproof coffee beans has come into question. The bulletproof coffee beans were pushed as being superior to other beans because of mold (mycotoxin) contamination issues. A recent comparison was done with Bulletproof beans, Starbucks, Caveman Coffee beans, & a random bag of coffee from Whole Foods. No mold toxins were found in any of the bags tested.

Let me be clear, coffee with grass fed butter, mct & or coconut oil does wonders for cognitive performance. It increases energy, stamina, & helps to eliminate food cravings. There just isn’t really an issue with the mold toxins as I & many others were lead to believe. Going forward use whatever coffee you like.

I apologize for not being more specific on how to make this coffee. I was going to put this in the comments but wanted everyone to find this.

 

1. Start with 1 cup off your favorite single sourced coffee. I like Pete’s coffee (i usually make about 2.5 – 3 cups for myself).

2. Add 1 tablespoon of Kerrygold grass fed butter (work your way up to 2 tbs over the next several days). A good rule of thumb would be 1 tbs for every cup of coffee.

3. Add 1 tablespoon of either mct or coconut oil (work your way up to 2 tbs over the next several days). I use 2 tbs of mct & 1 tbs of coconut oil in mine.

4. Mix in a blender for 20 seconds (the magic bullet is ideal for this)

5. It tastes fine without but I recommend a packet of stevia. Tastes like the best latte you’ve ever had.

Bulletproof Coffee

Bulletproof coffee is where it all started for me. It’s one of the quickest & easiest ways to start feeling amazing. Obviously this isn’t the end all be all, it won’t cure all your ailments. But it will give you a glimpse of the potential we all have to feel amazing each & every day. Alive & bursting with energy & mental focus is the best way to describe it. Everyone always has the same reaction when you tell them you put butter in your coffee. They give a look of disgust & say man that must be bad for you because of all the fat. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Despite common misconception. Grass fed butter or Ghee is a healthy fat & optimizes cholesterol levels & blood chemistry. There is so much information on cholesterol & heart disease that I want to dedicate a whole blog post or two about it. For now I’ll do my best to describe each aspect of bulletproof coffee & why it’s so beneficial.

I’m not going to lie, when I started experimenting with bulletproof coffee I ordered MCT oil from amazon & got the kerrygold unsalted grass fed butter from Sprouts. I didn’t buy the low toxin coffee idea for awhile. I used what we had at home as far as coffee & still felt pretty amazing results. As time went on I ordered all bulletproof products as the research I did validated all the claims & couldn’t be happier with the results.

You start with the Bulletproof Upgraded Coffee Kit that has a different mental affect than most other coffees & yes that includes starbucks. There is a huge problem that not a lot of people are aware of involving mold toxins that grow on the beans through the harvesting process. This mold toxin issue isn’t limited to coffee beans but won’t elaborate on this now. I’ll just say that these toxins are common in foods that originate in the tropics. These toxins create inflammation in our bodies & counteract the very thing we need so badly to avoid. Then you blend the coffee with grass fed, unsalted butter or ghee. Which has short chain fatty acids your brain needs for anti-inflammatory purposes. Then add coconut oil or ideally mct oil which is a extract of coconut oil that’s 6x stronger. I like to add a packet of stevia to sweeten it up. It taste amazing, there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t have bulletproof coffee. It’s amazing the affect it has on satiety, keeps you full for a good 6-8 hours. Also our bodies burn mct oil for energy with out any digestive process required. Adding MCT oil to your diet will promote weight loss & will help to prevent food cravings.

I know it’s not going to be for everybody but you should at least give it a try. There are so many benefits to be had by getting these short & medium chain fatty acids that are usually very hard to get into our diets.
